Re: Reasons Not to Pop MRSA

Staph aureus is all over our skin as well. And as a side note for washing hands, the more you scrub the more bacteria you have once you scrub that protective layer off exposing the bacteria. So don't scrub too hard or you'll have more germs than you started with (unless you obviously have something gross on them lol).

Did a fun experiment with it. Divided a dish with an agar on it into 4 quadrants. Touched first spot with unwashed thumb. Rinsed hands no soap for second spot; washed hands 30 sec with soap third spot and then 1 minute with soap for fourth spot. You'd be surprised at the bacterial growth after you wash your hands on the fourth spot as compared to the first. Sooo many different bacterial colonies. It made me feel not as bad when I wash my hands for not doing it longer lol.

What is an agar?

Re: Reasons Not to Pop MRSA

It is the gel like stuff in the dish that the bacteria can grow on.

I hope not. Hopefully, it's just a heat or yeast rash you can get rid of with hydrocortisone cream.

(Guys can get yeast rashes, too.)

Re: Reasons Not to Pop MRSA

If you have MRSA you need Bactrim, a 10 day total body cleaning with Hibiclens and you need Bactroban that you apply inside your nostrils for the course of antibiotics. After that if you can stay clear of it for a year you have it beat. I am almost 3 years free of MRSA outbreaks. Cost me a woman I loved who would not clean her house up of the animal filth but at least I don't have sores like that on my body anymore.

Here are a couple photos from when I had it, think I would rather be shot again as a gun shot wound hurt less than the MRSA did

Re: Reasons Not to Pop MRSA

Basically it means that this strain of staph has mutated to the point where certain antibiotics won't help fight off the infection anymore. Personally I think it's because we overprescribe antibiotics when they're not needed.
Another MAJOR reason is cattle being fed antibiotics as preventive measures.

May I ask what part of your body that is?

That sore in the middle of the red patch looks painful!
