This tasteful nude of my ex was not taken by me but one of R's girlfriends after we split. He died tragically at 30 (a little over 8 years ago) in a house fire. Nicest person there ever was.

The injuries you see here were from a car wreck he had when he was 18. Before driving home from work, he smoked week and took an Ambien, not expecting it to kick during his short trip home. It was a rainy night, R didn't remember it but his arm was resting in the open window of his car and a tree took it off. It was only held onto him by a small scrap of skin is what they told him. It took off his shoulder as well as you can see. There were other injuries as well, he had to wear an external fixator on his leg for a while, was wheelchair bound for awhile, and also he had to have a couple of surgeries because a very large hernia. Lots of phantom pain. He said that when he felt his arm, it felt like it was small and ended at the middle of his stomach and it also felt like it was on fire.

No. It’s an artful photograph. If you look closely you can see a dark strip across his head.. it’s an artist shot in black and white with props in it. *i.e. the skull in the foreground.
