It is heartbreaking.  She was nervous about having them after at least one miscarriage. And those poor babies will never know her or have any memory of her. |

Wow, that poor woman. That's not having a baby, she had a litter! The human body is not designed to carry more than 3, and even THAT'S rough.  |

Is that a medical fact? I'm curious, not disputing it. I know they take whatever they need from the mother and she gets whatever is left over. |

Well, not being an obstetrician myself, you're right, I don't know that's medical fact. But isn't it just logic that a woman's body can handle so much? http://www.slate.com/articles/news_a..._for_more.html The above referenced article quotes "Christopher Beam" (Slate.com) explains, “once the total weight of the babies inside reaches about 12 pounds, the uterus goes into labor. The greater the number of fetuses, the earlier the labor will occur.”  |
