Re: Odontoma Removal

That was probably the only thing on this site that nearly brought me to tears, FORCED myself to watch it..
Oh man... the patient was AWAKE for that too... oh hells no!

Side note, I was better at sewing when I was in 2nd grade..

Been stabbed, beaten, broke bones, over 12 or so surgical procedures, a 4th degree burn on my shoulder. (Though I ain't got shit on headlesshorseman 's hand..) couple car accidents, etc.

None of it bothers me the way dental pain/procedures do...

You must have seen, "Scarface."

My lowers don't numb as quickly as my uppers. I had an incident where I had to get 5 or 6 needles to get numb.

My dentist kept telling me. "Laws of Dentistry state you should be numb." They were wrong, in my case, but, I am the 0.01% with any issue.

I'm a good patient, but, I hate the feeling afterward that you look like Quasimoto. And you won't know if you burned your mouth or bite your tongue until the anesthesia wears off.

Oh, and I am always awake! I'm afraid I won't wake up.

Re: Odontoma Removal

I've probably only seen roughly 5 minutes of Scarface... then again? I never watched E.T. either..
Scarface has been on the to-do list for years (Over a decade now)..

I've been in the spot where I was given 5+ shots of Novocain, did nothing..doc went and drilled anyways. (Was 9 yrs old..so probably where my own personal fear of dentistry comes along today,. followed me.)
Besides that? never had luck with dentists when I was a youth.. Had an Arab dentist when I was 13-14 yrs old who informed me that they don't even use anesthesia for extractions etc. In his homeland, I should feel blessed. (Same doc slipped while drilling my brother.. Tore his lip to shreds ... nothing against Arabs or their doctors, best surgeon I met/had who performed two different surgeries about 20 years apart is Arab. )
Same dentist who told me about no anesthesia, went on to shoot his nephew hunting in 1995 ....
He left the practice shortly after. (His abbreviated name was Dr. I.A. Butt.. - IFTIKHAR UL BUTT http://www.licensepa.state.pa.us/Sea...__addr_zipcode=, how It came up searched, but that was him.. last name was longer on his placard.. hence he is no longer allowed to butcher anyone.)

So that about sums that up...lol

And that point where the novacain is wearing off and you drink cold water but it feels warm on the numbed side. Weird.
