Necrotizing Fascilitis
While Harlequin-type ichthyosis remains my favorite medical disorder of horror (medical dishorror?), it is congenital and therefore we have no danger of catching it. On the other hand, necrotizing fascilitis (flesh eating bacteria) is something that any one of us can catch, just by, say, swimming in a lake. Me no like-ee. · · |

Re: Necrotizing Fascilitis
I actually had quite a few acquaintances die from necrotizing fascilitis. They were all Heroin injectors, when the Heroin was first cut/bashed before being sold, unbeknownst to the guy doing the 'bashing' the surface he used used contained the bug, so consequently it then travelled with the smack and wiped out five people within days of eachother, despite being in intensive care |

Re: Necrotizing Fascilitis
There is now a case of a Georgia woman in critical condition, who survived a fall from zip-line sustained injuries, only to land in a creek, or area, that had the bacteria in it. She has lost her leg to the hip and will apparently be losing her hands as well. She is not a user, but a college lady of some accomplishment. I hear there might be a second victim from the same escapade. |
