Re: Me, Cutting My Wrist with a Razor.
Hi KayteeBlack! The only thing you have to attend to is to keep the cuts clean, but it looks like you already know that. I personally liked the use of alcohol to the cuts afterwards. It gave me the little extra I needed and helped to keep the cuts sterile. Somehow I am not into it anymore, cutfree since 2003 |

Re: Me, Cutting My Wrist with a Razor.
"Not everyone who cuts does it for some dissociative or emotional reason and just because the above mentioned is the experience of the majority doesnt mean it is the experience for all. What about piercing, body modification or suspension (with hooks etc)? What about blood fetishists and couples into blood play?" You do realise you've done nothing but state your opinion, right? Piercings are for an end, jewelry. Blood play is a private sexual thing. Thus far you have said nothing relevant at all. It really does sum up the intelligence of this girl, or lack thereof, that she agreed with you. None of what you've said has any bearing on cutting yourself to display it to others, at all. Irrelevant, and entirely baseless statements anyway. |

Re: Me, Cutting My Wrist with a Razor.
"There are so many reasons people might want to cut themselves up, and while most are derived from some sort of a psychological anomaly, who says distancing yourself from what socially accepted as 'normal' is such a bad thing?" No no no, you are not going to use the pathetic cop out of "don't be conformists", apples and oranges sir. This is about the attention seeking nature of both the video and her post, people didn't have a go at her for being different, people had a go at her for demeaning genuinely mentally ill people with her pathetic attempts at seeking attention. "Considering the absurdity of what is accepted in society, such as the need to lie and manipulate to get ahead and oppression of altruism, cutting yourself up for some kind of masochistic pleasure really isn't so bad, or is most likely a symptom of these natural social progressions." Are you playing dumb or do you seriously think these things have anything to do with the discussion at hand? Unbelievable. As little as you may like it, lying and manipulating all serve tangible purposes. Cutting yourself in this manner is clearly done for one purpose, attention. Once again, apples and oranges, there is no comparison here at all. |

Re: Me, Cutting My Wrist with a Razor.
Well, that was quite an attack... Who cares if she is doing it for attention? I never once said she wasn't. Obviously there is a distinct difference between someone who self harms for psychological/emotional reasons and someone who considers it a public display but as the OP clearly states, she does not cut for these reasons. The purpose served by creating such a public display is the sharing of the OP's desires to harm herself on a forum that is supposed to be about 'documenting reality'. I don't understand how this concept is so offensive to you, and I don't understand the need for such a nasty post. If by attention you mean she posted this in the hope to recieve wave after wave of sympathetic responses to her 'hidden pain' then she quite clearly picked the wrong forum to do so, but clearly this was not her intention as she mentioned clearly that it was a fascination with self mutilation and a willingness to publicly display this fascination that drove her to make the post... If your opinion is that lying and manipulating serves some form of tangible purpose then I really call into question your grasp on moral integrity. Last thing... I don't know about these other members, but I'm here to see blood/gore and other harsh aspects of reality, so really all KayteeBlack has done is added content, and good content at that :) Just like any forms of alternative art, haters gonna hate... |
