Re: Images of Severe Psoriasis
My brother had the red form. I think it was more itchy from being dry than painful. Don't know about the other people whose skin reminds me of mold. It must hurt if it's that dry that your skin color can no longer be seen. My brother found it embarrasing because when people see skin rashes, they think they are contagious. I do not believe this is. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me. |

Re: Images of Severe Psoriasis
My oldest son has this. The last picture brought back horrible memories of him itching and scratching until his knees would bleed. I know they have new and better medication now, but back 20 years ago it was a tough diease for a young child and mom to deal with. |

Re: Images of Severe Psoriasis
This, oddly enough, popped up on my internet provider's site. It lists many things that can be related to psoriasis. It's long so here is a link, if interested. There is a video about what psoriasis is. http://health.msn.com/health-topics/...-arthritis-too |

Re: Images of Severe Psoriasis
Thank you very much. Obvious my son still has to deal with this daily. Any info is a help. BTW, One doc told us to move to Arizona or Mexico, so the sun could help dry it up so to speak. Would have done it if I could have moved and had had a job. I guess after 20+ we have all learned how to cope with it. |

Re: Images of Severe Psoriasis
I have been a sufferer of this since i was 13..... since then i have never worn a skirt, dress or shorts. Mine started after diving into a swimming pool with a high chlorine level (it was being shock treated at the time) I was burnt from head to toe and it ended my swimming career. A week or so after i started to notice on my knees and lower legs some red, itchy patches, which soon evolved into the plaques. I have had puva, uvb, steroids etc etc but have now resigned to the fact i will never be able to wear anything that will show any affected areas. It is also now (after 21yrs) starting on my face and scalp. Have post pics although currently it is not at its worst.! Pic 1 - Right Hand Pic 2 & 3- Right Leg Pic 4 & 5 - Left Leg Pic 6 - Left Arm Pic 7 - Right Hand Pic 8 & 9 - Right Arm Would like to add that any injury i receive where skin is broken (scratch, cut graze etc) will result in another patch starting It is also made worse in periods of stress - very painful and the more you scratch/itch the more i get stressed about it and the more it flares up....nasty vicious cycle.... |
