I Had A Big Scare - A Stroke or Fit??
Whilst at Waterloo Station on Tuesday, I had a 'funny turn'. Nausea, everything spinning, left-sided sensory loss (dropped my McDonalds), facial tingling and headache. I thought it was a fit. I haven't had one for 10 years so was confused. I had/have post-surgical epilepsy from head trauma due to my brain bleed & surgery. Very common. Anyway, symptoms persisted all day, night and next day so went to GP for help. I was sent to A&E immediately and put in the scary trauma/resuss section and wired up to monitors. They suspected a TIA (transient ischaemic attack) or stroke. Praise God CAT scan just showed old damage only. After tests galore and a word with the stroke unit at King's College Hospital, conclusion was either a fit or a scary form of migrane called a hemiplegic migrane http://www.migrainetrust.org/factshe...migraine-10913 I'm home now but still not fully recovered I'm like a scared bunny here. I hate brain-related problems, so terrifying. I have actually had a TIA (mini stroke) http://www.patient.co.uk/health/Tran...tack-(TIA).htm in the past and could not use my left side for a week. Really scary but not as much as my brain bleed in 1996 You know, the only funny part of all this was the fact that when I transferred from guerney to CAT scan, my unfastened gown fell off and I flashed all my ECG leads · |

had to google for fit as i thought it was a rage. brain related health issues are always scary as you never know when the next time is gonna be, esp. if they're not sure yet what it was. That shows what crap they put in mcdonalds ) take it easy till u see ur neuro team. |

Re: I Had A Big Scare - A Stroke or Fit??
She had a sort of fit at waterloo station that scared her as she had a brain bleed some years ago. She went to A&E where they did scans which showed only old damage to the brain and not new damage so she was relieved at that. She is now waiting to see her neuro team. Rest Sharon! And no stress No sleep gutts? Are you ok? |

Re: I Had A Big Scare - A Stroke or Fit??
yeah, just dunno zopiclones dont seem to be working, they doubled them today tho, to 7.5mg ones, they also offered to put me onto some anti depressants.... ones i never heard of tho, but i nearly needed surgery to remove my foot from the doctor's ass when he offered me anti depressants. i'm ok tho, i read a copy of the reference my old employers wrote for this job i really want,. it was a shit hot reference too, except they fucked up my start date... so i snt a letter to my new employers enclosing a copy of my old contract so they can see i didnt lie about my start date... gotta have surgery on my left eye as well... i dont want it to get in the way of this new job i'm hoping to hook, so i requested temporary specks when i'm tired i just struggle to read large blocks of just words and writing compressed together into one without any paragraphs, otherwise i cant focus on where am |

Re: I Had A Big Scare - A Stroke or Fit??
last time I ate at Mcdonalds I got back to my place and opened the sack with it'a fish sandwich and noticed they had not given me a reciept. I harumped over that for a second but then just let it go and ate my sandwich. Started feeling queezy in a few minutes and ended up vomiting and heaving all night with increasing fever. Next day more vomiting and high fever with chills and aches all over. Worst I ever felt in years. Barely crawled to bathroom for hourly vomiting session and then to kitchen to snag a bottle of water. Then back to bed with more crawl sessions to vomit in bathroom. Hot showers to relieve pain. third day got up very weak but basically recovered. Went straight to Mcdonalds with the package and the left over crust that I never finished as I was already feeling odd when I ate it. The lady demanded I show her a reciept but of course she knew I never was given one. Very snotty bitch. Called 800 number and no one ever answered. EVER. Mcdonalds restaurants should be firebombed. |
