How Can She Walk!
 Proteus Syndrome is a condition which involves atypical growth of the bones, skin, head and a variety of other symptoms. The name comes from the greek God Proteus who used to change his shape or form. It is very rare, variable and progressive, affecting more males than females and the cause of is unknown. The syndrome became more widely known when Joseph Merrick (the patient depicted in the play and movie "The Elephant Man") had severe Proteus syndrome rather than Neurofibromatosis as had been previously suggested. Many (Pictuers shown below) suffers from this and has lived with this for 33 years. She has recently in January 2010 had her left leg amputeded due to a server infection.  ·  ·  · |

yea that's where i saw this too.. remember the guy who makes her shoes? pretty cool that she has someone specifically making them for her... they look like Frankenstein shoes  |

Amputate the other leg and she can get a fresh new set of bionic legs!! And be able to do stuff. From what I can remember, she couldn't walk. She had to use the chair to get around. I'd like to see a current pic of her....

She lives near me, shes a really nice person. She has loads of caring friends which is lovely to see.
