Re: Harlequin-Ichthyosis

Two of my cousins both have this,it was very crazy to see them growing up with it.My aunt spent hours a day saturating them in the medication and says its the only reason they are doing so well.I remember they both would crack and bleed very often. They are both doing very well and look alot more normal than you would think compared to these photos, actually the girl looks rather good pretty. You can still tell they have this though, their skin although its doing much better than when they were young,it still has a stretched plastic and dry cracking look.i am still very close to both of them.I saw a lot of what they had to go through growing up.Just a fyi they also see their numbers in color, some crazy shit.

What do you mean " they also see their numbers in color?" Could you please explain this? Thanks in advance.

All I know is that if I was playing a computer game and one of these things came crawling around the corner of a dark hallway, I'd shoot it.

Re: Harlequin-Ichthyosis

It would take some damned dedicated parents to be able to raise living harlequin babies.

Re: Harlequin-Ichthyosis

Poor things :( Every time I'm reminded of Harlequin babies I think that has just got to be one of the most awful things. Imagine being the baby, thrust from one environment into a foreign one, and everything hurts and you don't even know why. Imagine being the poor parents, looking at your kid suffering like this and not being able to do anything. Ugh. They always get me where gore doesn't, really.
