Yes, fevers are just a sign that you are fighting a virus. Ibuprofen or Tylenol doesn't work as an antibiotic, it just reduces the fever and symptoms from the fever allowing you to be more comfortable. I do give it to my kids when they have a high fever however, as it can be dangerous when too high.

I take a medication where one of the possible side effects is Steven's-Johnson's (the med is Lamictal). Even people who have been on it for years can suddenly develope this reaction. It's a seriously shifty way to go. Poor little girl...my prayers go out to her! |
