I had epilepsy of that type from life-saving neurosurgery. It was horrendous but it's under control now and I haven't had a grand-mal "shuffle" for over a decade. I have petit-mals now but cope well.

It's interesting how we all perceive where the line has to be drawn. This thread may be in bad taste but for me personally, as a sufferer of varying degrees of epilepsy, it strangely amused me. "Gallows humour" it's called. Where you laugh at your own afflictions. Not always easy, absolutely, but over time it can end up that way. As a coping technique. When I had grand mal fits like the lady in the video (I was a bit worse and had to be resusitated once) I used to tell people if they wanted any demolition done, sit me against the wall as a convulsion hit me and I'd batter it down. You see, me making light of such an awful condition was what kept me going. Some topics I don't joke about but this one, for me, is how I cope anyway. My dad has kyphosis (forward curvature of the spine) and the poor love calls himself "a walking question mark" as his coping technique. Ha ha, we laughed about how I was like Regan from 'The Exorcist' when I really had bad fits!! It helped me, people may find that odd but it's quite strengthening. My family smile about our thorns in the flesh, take our drugs, take a deep breath and plod on

Forgot this also. My workmate's friend had grand mal seizures and was told all what not and what to do. He just wanted to feel 'normal' and enjoy life, bless him. We were at the pub and he fancied a go on the fruit machines. Ooh dear! The flashing lights triggered him and that was it, he was off. There wasn't any poing restraining him as it can cause harm. From my experiences, I knew to just watch his head and airway and let it pass. Poor man ended up in the pub's Xmas tree and got tangled in fairy lights The plug was removed! All that came to my mind was the scene where James Finlayson wrestled on the floor with Stan and Ollie's Xmas tree in ?'Big Business' I told him afterwards and he loved it! We both had our Medic Alert bracelets on (I still do) and tucked in to a greasy burger shortly afterwards. We made light of an illness that could have ruined our enjoyment of life.
