Re: English Muffin Growing on Some One's Neck!
Thanks for mentioning diabetes. I'm a recently diagnosed type II with anemia. I see an oncologist on the 20th. His theories are interesting and seem to be based on common sense, which I think is an oxymoron, but, I read the entire article. I've only been on Metformin for three weeks and haven't been back for my follow-up blood test yet, but, I had some of the symptoms for a few months before the blood test, which now make sense. For no reason, I kept putting off the blood test. Actually, I do know why. It was inconvenient to be there between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM. I'm usually up til 3 or 4 AM and wake up 2 or 3 PM, except on babysitting days. I didn't sleep last night and finally went to bed about 11:30 AM and got up about 6:30 PM today. I went from being very upset to realizing I have to deal with it. I have no choice. The woman in my gastroenterology office told me it can be reversed like it was no big deal. She was the only one so far. I was happy to see she is not the only one to believe that. I'm getting an endoscopy on the 24th, but, that's another issue. We'll see what happens... I'm glad we have so many intelligent people on this site, as well as those in or getting in to the medical field. It really helps when you all share your knowledge and experiences :) |

Re: English Muffin Growing on Some One's Neck!
I know being diagnosed with a new condition can be unnerving, and some times down right terrifying, but as the woman said, it can be reversed! It just takes a drastic change of lifestyle. As a member of our community, I'm sure I don't need to tell you there are FAR worse things to be diagnosed with. I know that you're having a hard time with this, but you are one of the lucky people who are diagnosed with something you can do something about! With the proper motivation and action, I have faith that you will be able to move past this, and in doing so, better your health! We're all family here, so if you ever need moral support, I'm sure any of us would be happy to help. |

Re: English Muffin Growing on Some One's Neck!
Thank you. I sincerely appreciate that. I know there are alot of awesome people on this site. The oncologist told me he's going to put me on oral meds, instead of IV, which my family doctor thought I needed. My iron count or red blood cells, actually went up a bit. I was thinking I could have had cancer, but, hoped my doctor wouldn't have sent me there to hear the oncologist say, "Surprise! You have cancer!" He did not Things can always be much worse! I'm curable and manageable so I'm better off than a lot of people so I'm good. My blood pressure is good. I'll probably lose a few pounds. I have to get new glasses, but, I didn't get them last year so I expected I was due. I'm keeping the frames. I hate choosing new ones and I like these. BUT, I have my vision, I can walk and drive and take care of myself without assistance. When I need help with personal hygiene, I may want to check out then. Oh, and I can type |
