Diabetes Foot of Elderly Lady Developing Contractures
Diabetes foot of elderly lady developing contractures because of being bedbound/immobile. The dry skin and thick yellow nails go hand in hand with diabetes, especially in the elderly who can't properly clean their feet. The deformation of the feet is called a contracture and develops when people are immobile and their muscles atrophy and curl in on themselves. |

Re: Diabetes Foot of Elderly Lady Developing Contractures
My Mum had a bunion and when it was removed she was awake for the operation and heard them breaking and resetting her bones. I imagine its a lot easier now as this was the 1990s but she was told to rest for two weeks. Then she went out and bought her own body weight in shoes and sandals.
