The "glamshot" is after we both got over all the medical issues (MRSA & PICC lines) which was days just before my wedding... Let's just say, he is a happy kid, glad the ordeal is over, and the sad thing is it might have been prevented from so many complications had different choices been made. Don't like it, just move on....I am sure you do no wrong, glad I don't have a glass house you can throw a stone at, cause it would break and shards of glass will imbed your body but that wouldn't be worth any of us to look at it.

wow. people will never cease to amaze me. Deadcat I am glad your son is ok now!! Also, to those that have a problem with he posting pics of her son...I can understand people not wanting to post pics of their kids on here. I totally get that, but would you all have found it more acceptable if you did not know it was her son? There are many distubing videos and images on here about children and they do bother me so I refrain from looking at them. Do you all get pissed at those too or just move on to other videos because you don't know anything about the child other than they were abused or killed? |

You are very welcome. And I am not trying to offend anyone but at least these pics were posted with your obvious consent. I mean, how many other images are on here where the family and loved ones don't know about it? Would they appreciate that people are looking at these illnesses and deaths for our own entertainment value? I doubt it. Yet, we still look. Ok, I am done with my rant! lol

Many grateful thanks~this is my version of shouting it from the rooftop! Besides, it isn't a common issue (the trauma level 1 center we went to) with its peds specialty unit had not seen anything like that in years, and then after my son healed and was getting so much better, there was another little boy who ended up exactly the same, procedures and all.... And this whole ordeal started with a sinus infection that went inward and got worse. He wasn't blowing phlegm ~ he seemed normal other than telling dad he is getting some bad headaches. But then again, I was married to their dad, and I always had headaches too (just kidding). To those who feel offended I posted photos of my own child, I feel thrilled he made it, got better and hope that just cause he wasn't DEAD or physically maimed for life, doesn't discount the fact it was a medical issue and many members here are in medical fields. To those learning about the medical field, some signs of meningitis is stiffness of the neck, fever, vomiting, etc.... I just would hate to see someone go through this if avoidable...

I am very glad for you and your family that your outcome was so good!Mine was'nt my son was 7 when he exibited the exact same symptoms as your son,it was eerie when i read your story in the beginning causeT.J. acted the same way,I took him too his Dr. 3 times and the hospital twice, the second time they finally did a spinal tap and told us he had menigitis.The first hospital visit earlier in the eve. T.J. was acting so strange and telling me too 'shoot the ball mom" when he was sitting in a wheelchair at the Dr.s office, that'swhen I really got scared.Later that eve. I spoke with his Dr. and was crying and asked him "if this was your child what would you do?" he said too stay home and he should start too improve by morn.Well that did'nt happen at one a.m. he started what is called a bucking syndrome and screaming a most terrifying scream that is truly indescribable.His eyes were rolling too the back of his head and he lost all contril of his bodily function<this was his brain swelling so bad he bruised on the outside of his head. by this point when we got too the hospital he had stopped breathing on his own was intabated,spinal tap ,diagnosis and a quick ride by helicopter too children's hospital in seattle.The dr.s were so kind too us cause all the way too Seattle we were dillusional thinking they could"fix him" and he would come out of this somewhat o.k. but he was taken off his respirator at 5:00p.m and died at 5:17p.m.So Im so very happy for you and your boy cause I can't explain how much my heart wrenches for the loss of mine. We raced too the hospital and he had stopped breathing so they intubated him and a spinal tap was performed and that's when they came back and told us he had meningitis.They took him by helicopter too children's in Seattle and all the way there my husband and i were so dillusional thinking he would be o.k. but that's not the way it turned out .His brain had swelled so bad that it bruised the out side of his skull.And everything just went downhill from there. we took him off the respirator at 5:00p.m. and he died at 5:17p.m. so i'm truly happy for you and your boy .I miss T.j. so badly i could not begin too explain the pain my heart endure's every day he's not here with me.Love from Dawn Turner
