Re: Bizarre Pregnancy Craving Sees Mum-of-two Eating SAND and SPONGES
During my pregnancy of my 3rd daughter I had the unstoppable craving to go to a bike store just around the corner where I live. I wanted to smell the oil, grease, rubber and whatever more was there constantly. I couldn't resist it, it was soooo nice and it almost made me drool! One night I even went there to smell it again but the store was closed. In the dark and hidden behind a big planter I managed to open the mail box (which was attached in the front door of the store) and put my nose in it so I could smell the heavenly smell. After my daughter was born I went to the bike shop again. And really, I didn't understand why that smell was that appealing to me a couple of months ago. Very strange but very true. I don't know if there's a "smell pica syndrome" though. But if there is, I sure was a victim of it! (During my other pregnancies I was addicted to icecream, crackers and orange lemonade. The smell of all wicker baskets made me vomit.) |

My cravings were really boring then! I craved and HAD TO HAVE orange ice cubes. I literally would sit on the floor with my big belly holding a tray of ice cubes, while I crunched my way through them. I had to have a constant supply. Second daughter it was licorice and grapes!! |
