I'm guessing he was in shock and the reality of it all will hit him later. A friend of mine's uncle had his arm blown off. When he came to his senses after the blast, he noticed his arm was laying apart from his body and he kept trying to 'stick' it back on while in shock. |

At least he still has the ability to grasp things. When it comes down to it, that's all that really matters. Had it been just his thumb that got shot off, he'd be really screwed.

I found that out a couple of months ago, when I broke my thumb and had to be in a cast. It sucked big time.
