Re: Baby Girl Born the Size of a Cell Phone Fighting to Survive *update*
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A baby born the size of a cell phone in Winston-Salem has died after months of fighting against the odds. Adilynn Renee died Friday evening, according to her family. She was about five months old. She was born in June at Forsyth Medical Center about four months early, weighing less than a pound. She was called one of the tiniest babies ever born at Forsyth Medical Center. As of last month, she was about four pounds. A few months ago, Adilynn was moved from Forsyth Medical Center to Brenner Children’s Hospital. She’s had pneumonia twice and a blood infection. Adilynn had been on life support. “(She) wasn’t even supposed to live, so we sat here the whole time thinking she was going to die,” Adilynn’s father, Matthew Reynolds, told FOX8 in July. Adilynn’s story inspired support from across the country. Source: http://myfox8.com/2014/11/21/adilynn...on-salem-dies/ Sad. |

Sigh no, some are just too young to live. Cost is cynical to speak of but yet the same should be, as well as quality if life for the patients. Their getting poked and stuck with needles while being at constant disk of brain haemorrhage and so on. My brother and wife had two preemies and both turned out ok but they won't have more cause the mother will not carry to term and doctor adviced against more babies considering this.

Touching. Hope she makes it, and if not, may her parents have all the love and support they need. I was born almost that small, but my parents decided to keep me. I was an incubator baby and in early childhood had some developmental delays, but as an adult I'm pretty healthy and where I should be. |

I was very premature, think I weighed 2 pounds or less? The docs heard all my alarms go off one day and when they went in to investigate, my tiny little hand had pulled off all my monitor wires and I'd crawled into a corner. I wore a doll's hat an improvised nappy. The doctor called me his little miracle. |
