yep that is a very uneducated guess.. when i take photos of myself, i tend to not smile myself.. same goes for group pictures.. i just feel awkward putting on fake smiles.. not an emo characteristic and no emo burns themself.. they either go full suicide or just cut..

It's called narcissism. They are totally involved and tend to focus on themselves and the group of their friends. Outside that, that have little other interest or focus.
