Assisted Suicide on German Tv
Translation: -Thank you -Safe travels, Miss Kessel -Safe travels — no pain anymore. -Now she’s in very deep narcosis, and doesn’t realize her heart‘s stopped beating. -I believe she’s already going. You can tell that the tip of the nose is getting a little pale, since the blood flow isn’t there anymore. -Yep, she’s going |

Yeah man. I don’t think I could do that. But good for her if it makes her happy.

That is one of the most humane things humans can do.

Re: Assisted Suicide on German Tv
My guess is that this video was filmed at Pegasos, a voluntary assisted death clinic in Switzerland. There are a few VAD clinics in Switerzland, but as far as I know, Pegasos is the only one that offers intravenous pentobarbital. The other clinics only offer oral pentobarbital. The difference between euthanasia and assisted suicide: euthanasia is when a doctor commits the final act (physically pushes the medication into the veins), whereas assisted suicide is when the patient does it themselves. In this video, you can see they set up the IV for her, but she had to physically unlock the IV tube to allow the medication to start flowing. |

Re: Assisted Suicide on German Tv
I think everyone should be afforded this right to die. With dignity and peace instead of agonizing.

Guessing cancer with the trach tube... I'd like to believe there is comfort in at least knowing the way you're going to go. Personally, wouldn't mind going while asleep when my turn comes. |

Re: Assisted Suicide on German Tv
This was very poignant to watch. I wish all of us could depart this way when the time is up: peacefully, without unnecessary suffering, maybe with someone holding our hand while sending us to our way. Gute Reise, Frau Kessel <3

Re: Assisted Suicide on German Tv
When you're in real pain and about to die i say go for it but there are a lot of pros and cons when it comes to assisted suicide. More: https://dredf.org/public-policy/assi...e-legalized-2/ |

Re: Assisted Suicide on German Tv
I'll have to go back to finish it but I do understand the point they're making but it's not just about not being able to use the toilet without help. It's pain and fear. Fear of suffering to the end. The agony of dying mixed with the loss of dignity is completely different. I feel there's a big gap between euthanizing disabled people and letting terminal people avoid the loss of everything, along with life. I know it's a complex discussion but I am for it. |
