Asking for a Bit of Medical Help (eye Problem)
Okay so I am asking here specifically because the other site I go to will just say 'go to the doctor' which, I mean whatever but I want to know now and it's 9pm at night and I'm basically not allowed to go to the emergency room because if my parents...(25 but disabled and can't drive, live with dad) Anyway I'm assuming an eye can't just shrink suddenly, right? I'll explain... A half hour ago I was sitting here adn started feeling pain INSIDE my eye it felt like, or pressure. It felt like it was coming from inside. There's no real redness or anything. It's not really blurry. I mean I keep fucking with it so any 'blurryness' I have in that eye is probably because I keep messing with it. It's pretty much exactly the same except it looks just slightly cloudier from the affected eye. But barely at all. So, I can see and no redness but for some reason my eye looks smaller and I just want to know if it's possible or impossibel for an eye to just get smaller in like one day. I'm pretty fucking sure I'm just imagining shit because honestly, I'm a hypochondriac. so you can go ahead and call me a pussy or a dumb ass all you guys want but you're like the only site that I can go to that has liek any inkling of medical knowledge and won't just say 'go to the doctor' like because that doesn't help me at 9pm at night. I don't know if it's related but I was trying(and failing) to use a drill earlier and some of the air from the drill blew into my face on that side, but it didn't feel like anything went into my eye. |

Re: Asking for a Bit of Medical Help (eye Problem)
Well.. if it is actually "Shrinking"? A bunch of shit can be going on. Can be anything from complications in Sjogren's Syndrome to Duane's syndrome to strabismus (misalignment of the eye), any number of things to make you think your eye is shrinking. (or actually shrinking) So.. not to sound like the "other sites", But... if it is concerning you? call the doc in the morning. |

eyes don't shrink or grow, not even from the time of birth. It's the skin and muscle tissue that grows and shrinks (depending of age or infection). Think because of you messing with it and the air from the drill the surrounding tissue swells up a bit so the eye looks smaller. If you stop messing with it, it will turn to normal again i'm sure of. |

Re: Asking for a Bit of Medical Help (eye Problem)
Conjunctival swelling could make the eye itself seem smaller. However pain inside the eyeball and blurry vision is typical of uveitis, and that drops the intra-ocular pressure, making the eyeball seem deflated and smaller than normal. Treatment is topical anti-inflammatories and antibiotics. |
