My son was born with all his intestines on the outside (gastroschsis) and he was critically ill. He was operated on and it saved his life. After a month in hospital we became worried about his vision. When he was 3 months old we were told that he was blind and could only see shadows. Not only that there were lots of other issues that come with the condition "septo optic displaysia" (google it lol) he would have probably been in the system all his life due to his condition.

he is in mainstream school with a personal teacher. He has about 20% vision in his left eye and about 5% in his right. He has growth issues due to the pit gland in his brain so he is small for his age. He has lots of issues with routine and stuff. He also has borderline diabetes insipidus (water based) which is a nightmare. But, he is a healthy 6 year old boy that gets into trouble and rough and tumble  |
