Yahia al-Raghwa Publicly Executed in Sanaa, Yemen, July 2009
Yahia al-Raghwa, who owned a barber shop in Sanaa, Yemen, was reportedly executed by shooting on July 6, 2009 before hundreds of people. During his trial, he confessed to raping, killing and dismembering Hamdi al-Kabas, an 11 year old boy who visited the shop for a haircut in December 2008. His original punishment, being thrown from a tall building, was reduced to shooting. He was placed face down on a cloth and a police official shot him four times in the back. No reporting supports the widely circulated assertion that the victim's father purchased the bullets. Images of the execution have been repeatedly circulated with inaccurate captions for years, and the precise provenance of this set has not been verified. |

I would love to see Public Executions here in Canada. There is no doubt some people might think twice about doing some of the evil shit they do. |

No, Harry you wouldn't. It stands against everything you stand for. Penalties only work when the criminal thinks he will be caught. Few think that way. I'm a death penalty advocate too. But for the reason you don't have to fuck with them again. wolfie |
