Local authorities believe that the kidnapping, torture and murder of this woman and another state official are related to the capture of a high ranking member of the Gulf Cartel last week.

Nayeli Reyes, 32, was kidnapped on her way to work on the states prosecutors office of Boca del Rio, Mexico.

She was driving her car when some armed narcos in a black Pick up intercepted her right in front of the office. Later, her car was found still running in the middle of the street.

This body of a tortured feamale was found laying only a few meters away from their home. The parents of the kidnapped girl first identified her as their daughter and claimed the body, but later the same day they took their testimony back because some body signs seem not to match .
Now they are running new investigations/tests to determine the identity of the body.

Update to this case:

On January 21, 2010, Nayeli Reyes Santos, an administrative official with Mexico's federal judiciary, was abducted by armed men while traveling to work in Boca del Río, Veracruz. Three days later, authorities discovered the mutilated body of a woman in the same general area. The victim had been left with a threatening message attributed to Los Zetas, and officials initially announced that the body belonged to Reyes. Early news reports repeated that identification, leading to reports that the kidnapped court employee had been murdered.

The mistake was discovered after Reyes's family received the body and began preparing for her funeral. While viewing the remains, family members noticed physical characteristics that did not match Nayeli, including different hair and tattoos she did not have. They stopped the funeral and returned the body to forensic authorities. Officials later identified the murdered woman as Miriam Mendo Parra, who was from Poza Rica. The disturbing error meant that Reyes was still missing and that authorities were now dealing with two separate cases.

The disappearance of Reyes remained under investigation, with both state and federal authorities involved in the search. Investigators examined whether her kidnapping could have been connected to organized crime activity in Veracruz, although no connection was publicly established at the time.

This won't stop until local government and LE are no longer corrupt. We have the same thing here as far as drug killings, but they don't chop them up and leave signs. Difference between strength and integrity. Look at Iraq. How many times does the US military save the ass of Iraqi LE. How many times has it happened here? I'm not praising LE I think we have lost tons of rights do to their failures , but you don't see hacked up bodies at the Ritz. You do that here, you've turned loose the dogs.
