This 46 year old woman was discovered dead in her home this morning. She was found lying on her sofa in her pajamas, her hands bound with cloth and a plastic bag secured tightly around her head. her body exhibited several signs of death by asphyxiation.

The home showed signs of a possible forced entry and her death is currently being investigated as a homicide.

That looks odd to me. Her hands are not restrained well. I think she could have reached the bag on her head. She was drugged or pinned down I bet.

This looks like a suicide if it wasn't for the forced entry so it probably isn't.

Take some sleeping pills, put a bag over your head, tie your hands and you'll die ''peaceful'' if you're lucky.

Yeah I figured it was a suicide for sure, right down to the hands being loosely tied, which is not uncommon in self-bagging suicides. Anyone who has done their proper research before trying it knows to do that so you don't tear the bag off when your body is half unconscious and panicking in autonomous self-preservation mode.

But the last newspaper article I read said that cops are working under the theory that she was tortured slowly with the bag in order to make her give up information about some cash she apparently withdrew from her bank. They believe it was a robbery.

Weird case. No signs of any struggle. Just her on a couch with a pillow underneath her head.

But she urinated, this can be a sign of a violent death ( in many cases )

Yeah, Rojas reporting is sometimes sketchy. They dont have many qualms about publishing in absence of much fact. That said, they also tend to bribe a lot of cops for inside info, so their facts are frequently correct, too. I'm also watching several of her family members on FB to see what remarks they make about it. Lots of memorials for her, but not a lot of discussion about how/why she died. I'll post here if anything concrete develops.

And yes, she did wet herself when she died. You're not incorrect that this happens semi-frequently with violent deaths, especially with female decedents. But it is also extremely common in most asphyxiation suicides, as well, both hanging and self-suffocation. So the presence of urine at the scene doesn't necessarily tell us much here, other than the basic fact that she hadn't visited a toilet for a while when she died.
