After seeing this and this thread from Simone about some unfortunate men who died when trying to climb through these jalousie windows. I did some research and ohh boy there's shitload of deaths like this. And not surprisingly all of the cases are from Brazil.


Fig1: 2014. A 28 year old burglar in Trindade, Brazil, died when trying to sneak out from a college building, after attempting to steal a television.


Fig2: 2020. In São João, Brazil, a man was found dead hanging from a window at a health clinic. The man had tried to steal a television and he was wearing an electronic ankle bracelet. It is believed that he removed his clothes to fit better through the window.



Fig3-4: 2012. Delmiro Gouveia, Brazil. This man was locked inside a room in his house by his wife to prevent him from buying drugs. The man probably experiencing withdrawal symptoms tried to exit through the window but got stuck and died.


Fig5: 2019. A man died when trying to steal beer in Rio Verde de Mato Grosso, Brazil. The man had placed the beer he intended to steal in the next window. According to locals he was a known drug user and thief.


Fig6: 2020. A man died when trying to enter an auto workshop in Sete Lagoas, Brazil.


Fig7: 2014. Propriá, Brazil. A woman locked her husband in at home because he was an alcoholic. The man who might have been desperate for more alcohol tried escaping from a window but was only met with deadly consequences.


Fig8: 2017. In São Miguel do Guamá, Brazil, a burglar died when trying to break in to an elementary school.


Fig9: 2015. The body of a drug user and trafficker was found dead in Santa Vitória, Brazil. The man had attempted to rob his uncle’s house who was in prison but got stuck in a window and died. I'm not 100% sure that this is the same type of window as the others but I'll let it slip through.


Fig10: 2014. A burglar died after trying to enter the office of an auto parts shop in Calafate, Brazil.

It's not the bizarre cause of death that amuses me, it's the sheer number of idiots on display who've died this way.

I'm having a hard time understanding WHY they are getting stuck. Is it kind of like that one game from saw where her hand pushed up blades , but when she went to pull down it got stuck? I know if she would have only used one hand, she would have been able to escape. Would there be a way to survive this occurrence?
