Re: Winco Foods Corpse Found in Column
While the smell of human decomp and caca is common all over Latin America, it is still unusual in Kalifornia at the entrance to grocery stores and would deter customers, hence the urgency to find the smell.

Re: Winco Foods Corpse Found in Column
Thanks very much, Dahlia. Those pictures are harrowing. Looks like they deployed a blue inflatable kids pool to catch the decomp fluids spilling from the column. There are puddles of liquid, bet that smelled great and did wonders for Winco's business. There is a firetruck, maybe they called for a hose down. Store manager thought maybe an animal like a **** had died in there so he called a plumber, he figured plumbers are used to handling nasty shit all day and wouldn't mind. BTW, in the 1960's with the race to put a man on the moon in the USA and all the civil rights issues a common phrase was "**** on the Moon by June" Reminds me of that Edgar Allen Poe story, wasn't it named "The Cask Of Amontillado", where the guy gets walled up permanently? |

No problem. There's loads of images out there, but I didn't want to flood the page with them, so just picked a select few. It would be good if someone could get more photos of the corpse.

Re: Winco Foods Corpse Found in Column
[QUOTE=MorbidLady;6010961]On August 11th 2018 in Lancaster CA the manager of Winco foods called a plumber out after smelling a foul oder coming from a column at the front of the store. When the plumber broke open the column he was immediately hit with the smell of human decomposition and recognized a human foot and leg. Authorities were called and have since been working to remove the body. Authorities have* released information stating they believe this could possibly be the body of a young man they were involved in a chase with last week. While fleeing the male suspect made it onto the roof and that is where officers lost sight of him. The mans identity has not yet been released Will update as more information becomes available. Update on the deceased individual discovered in a column outside of Winco foods in Lancaster Calif last week- The man has since been identified as 35 year old Raymundo Rivera. Autopsy results and cause of death have not yet been released. Authorities are still saying they believe this man was pulled over for driving a stolen vehicle and took off on foot. It wad then that he somehow made his way into the Column either by an accidental fall or he purposefully entered the column somehow. |

Re: Winco Foods Corpse Found in Column
He was trapped inside a 'column'. A 'column' today is not like the columns of Greek and/or Roman days. The columns of ancient days were solid components capable of supporting great weight. Today's 'columns' are meant to be evocative of the substantial columns of ancient times past. But alas, aside from the cosmetic addition to a building, most of today's 'columns' are largely and literally mere shells of the columns of yesterday. Generally, today's 'columns' consist of a box-like structure which is framed from lumber the interior of which is hollow...which is the space into which our poor departed 'gentleman' fell...and then baked to death over hours or days. Then covered in lathe and finally plastered or sometimes covered in veneer brick and/or tile. |
