Unidentified Woman Found Shot Dead in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, May 23, 2012
An unidentified woman was found dead in an open grassy lot near Rua Ibema and Rua São Roque in the Vale do Sol neighborhood of Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, at about 7:40 a.m. on May 23, 2012. Municipal Guards on community patrol discovered the body. The woman had several gunshot wounds. Investigators found a spent 9 mm pistol cartridge case near her, but no firearm was recovered at the scene. Civil and scientific police processed the area before the body was removed by the local medical examiner's office. The time of the shooting was not established.
