Re: Throat Slashed
No ache, man. :) #1, Photos without watermarks are ALWAYS a viable upgrade and earnestly appreciated. #2. This board sees a lot of traffic, mate. Hard to check for everything in terms of reposts. They're bound to happen from time to time. No harm done on any level-I wasn't even originally posting to chastise you or anything. Just to alert the mods for consolidation in order to reduce board clutter. #3. Keep up your great posts, please. Better to accidentally repost something now and again than to not have it posted at all. I appreciate all of your recent contributions to DR! |

Re: Throat Slashed
Ouch, that's a tough mandate. Many of the photos I find are watermarked by the original news sources that distribute them. Not sure what led to this ruling, but it certainly does suck. Guess I'll be posting about 1/10 as much as I used to with this new rule. :( I love this site and have posted almost exclusively here for years, but if I have to start doctoring all of my images in photoshop in order to remove watermarks from legit news sources, I may as well just post somewhere else and save myself a lot of time. *sigh* How very frustrating and disappointing. |

Re: Throat Slashed
Well, that is somewhat comforting. I'm still confused as hell by the whole thing, but as I always say...the site isn't mine to run, so the rules aren't up to me. Guess I'll post what I find and if it winds up crossing a line somewhere someone will tell me or remove it. Still sad overall about the fact that this new ruling is sure to drastically lower the amount of photos being posted, both by me and by many others. Hope that whatever problem is causing this disruption sorts itself out soon before we miss too many good photo ops. |
