The whole idea behind sky burial is that once a person dies their body is just garbage to be disposed of. The Tibetan Buddhists believe that once you die, there is no need to preserve the body, as it is now an empty vessel.

I like the idea of a sky burial. No diseasing rotten mess lying there, it's all cleaned away, the bones are picked bare, and then collected I think. I wouldn't mind a sky burial after my organs are harvested for donation (seriously). Going out the way I came in, no clothes, no box, just nature.
