It's not looked at the same way in Thailand. It's a practice going back thousands of years. A woman engaging in prostitution to support her family is considered an honorable sacrifice and spiritually moves her towards a higher level in her next incarnation.

Nothing like using a young girl’s death to further your political agenda, surprised that happens in the eastern world too. Although she was a really great artist, very realistic sketch.
