Flip flop blowouts cause hundreds of accidents every year. In most cases the person wearing the flip flop trips over them, and ends up in oncoming traffic. It's rare but on occasion an abandoned flip flop has caused decapitation, when a padestrian is walking on the road ,and the flip flop has been struck by the tire of a speeding car. There have been reports of individuals being knocked unconscience after having been assailed with flip flops by an angry spouse. I could go on but I think everybody gets the picture here... flip flops are a serious danger to society, and should be avoided completely.
