I've never understood this mentality. I mean, if people wanna discretely watermark the photos they find, then so be it. I'm not calling anyone, especially a prolific poster like Kelly, out for it. But these are not 'our pics' to pinch. With very very few exceptions (wherein the poster actually takes the photo themselves), every single photo or video posted on this website is 'pinched' from somewhere else. And in many cases the posters at DR (myself included) take the time to black out or remove the watermarks that OTHER sites put on to protect their own photos. I have seen this 'They're stealing our shit!' attitude many times. I saw it at Uncover Reality, I saw it at Viral Death, I saw it at Kiuma...and I have never ever ever understood it. Those of us who post pics here (and I post hundreds every year myself) are either using Public Domain images, in which case who the fuck cares if they get 'pinched'...or we are shamelessly stealing them from other sites, in which case complaining about someone 'stealing' them from us is the height of rank hypocrisy. |
