it happens all the time, especially if the victim is of no significance.
I'm sure she must have had someone who cared about her.. maybe a pet, maybe family, coworkers, maybe a friend, or maybe an unlikely partner. Even insignificant people can have significance to other insignificant people all the time; this may seem paradoxical to us likeable people—but it does happen in life in a rather ordinary fashion, which makes the insignificance of it even more astounding.
