Re: Russia - Woman Killed by Her Lover + Dumped in a Lake
Russian swamps seem to have VERY low levels of Oxygen, and thus very little decomposition. I saw a video of a pilot dug out of the cockpit of his plane (He was shot down in WWII) and he looked like he had only been there for a day or so. Same thing with mechanical equipment. There was a T-34 tank the Germans had captured, and then dumped in a swamp as they pulled back. It had ZERO rust on it at all. Looked like it had just been put in the water. Even the paint looked fresh, when they dragged it out of the water. There are videos of both of these on the WWII websites. A peculiarity of Russian swamps, I guess. (Although there have also been a lot of "Bog People" uncovered over the last 100 years, and a bunch of them are over 1000 years old. They don't look as good as the pilot did. He looked like he just fell asleep, except his face and hair were wet. )
