There's nothing saying the 8yo was home when mom left to summon the police. He may have been at a neighbor's and returned home while mom was gone. I'm trying - really, really trying - to give mom the benefit of the doubt here.  |

I hope that's the case, or a similar scenario...if not I still can't imagine where a mom's mind would have to be for her to not grab her child FIRST, and then book it!
