Prozzy Kills + Robs Client to Pay for a Lawyer for Her Jailed Druggy Husband
On 21st January 2018, in room 11 at the Samnang Nas guesthouse in Ang Snuol district, 58 year old journalist + military officer, Nuon Sopheap was murdered. The owner of the guesthouse said that at 12pm on 21st January, Nuon + 30 year old Pheng Nan arrived*. At 1.43pm, Pheng came out of the room alone. At 6pm, the guesthouse owner realised that time was up for the room to be used. The door to room 11 was ajar, inside, Nuon was dead from 16 stab wounds. The police were called. On 24th January, Pheng was arrested at her rental house. She confessed to the murder, stating that she stabbed Nuon while he was asleep after they had had sex. Pheng also confessed to robbing him. She had stolen Nuon's Samsung phone, platinum necklace, gold ring, Honda Dream motorbike + $1,200 cash. She sold the goods for $3,000. If convicted, she faces life in prison. Pheng's motive for murder was to rob Nuon in order to pay for a lawyer for her husband, who is in pre-trial detention on drug charges. She was due in court on 26th January. Another woman, 35 year old Chan Sokhim, was arrested on 25th January after she knowingly purchased the stolen motorbike from Pheng. Chan faces between 2 + 5 years in prison + a fine of up to 10 million riel ($2,500). *From what I understand, the guesthouse is a massage parlour, Pheng worked there + Nuon was her client.                    |
