Anther travesty to accompany the multitude of Obvious Suicides That Deluded Families Believe To Be Murder that seem to be all the rage in India this year.

This 30 year old woman, the wife of Dehradun's answer to William Randolph Hearst, was found asphyxiated and hanging in her apartment back in February. Her family, like so many others in India, refuses to accept the reports of multiple coroners, multiple bureaus, and the clear evidence of the scene.

Unwilling to believe even for a moment that their child could be unhappy, someone surely must have murdered her and staged the hanging. Why? Her feet are on the ground, of course. (because that only happens in about 85% of hanging suicides) Plus the bucket she stood on has no footprints. (she was wearing socks) Oh don't forget that a mysterious leather belt (proven to be her own) was lying in the same room, along with many of her clothes. The list goes on and on. Suffice to say it's all bullshit. As clear a case of hanging as ever there was, according to the cops, the husband, the medical examiners, independent audit, and the comparison of many thousands of hanging images on this site alone.

All of their endless complaining, however, did finally get the husband taken into police custody this past week. Seems he is to be charged with Abetting a Suicide, which essentially means that he knew definitively that she was going to do it, but took no means to stop her. Not the murder charge her family has been slavering for, but I guess they can be happy to put the squeeze on him.

Not 100% sure, but I don't believe so. Saw no mention of them in any of the half-dozen articles I read, but trying to translate from thrice-damned, misbegotten fucking Kumaoni dialects was giving me a headache so I may have moved on before gathering further background.

If I read correctly, it was a small, private apartment that she kept for herself when he was away or when they were arguing or whatever.
