Police Demolition in the Philippines

April 23, 2012

Happened in the city Paranque, the Philippines, the council were ordered to remove the illegal flea market where a lot of slum dwellers lived, which was built on government property, the government wanted make new buildings on there.

The police arrived to supervise the demolition, and there was a big riot, with residents throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at police . 39 injured and one person was shot dead, not by the police though.

"Wait, it's an extra 600 for rock-proof windows? We won't need that."

Nothing like documenting a police beat down for the world to see.

Re: Police Demolition in the Philippines

There is a difference between a police beat down and police becoming involved in a brawl, police are people too and you hit them enough they will lose it just like anyone else and fight back the big difference being the rioters had the option of leaving, the police did not.
