Majority of natural gas is not even close to Sumy and Kharkiv..it’s Siberian and Northen parts of Russia. Russia is #1 in the world by confirmed gas locations and amount of gas that can be extracted

Donbas has nothing compared to what Kuzbas has in Russia. Russia is #2 in coal reserves after USA. 17% of world coal compared to like 3-4 % Ukraine had with Donbas.

Ukranian GTS is old and outdated. It needs a lot of investment or even better just to build a new one… which they almost accomplished NS2. But anyway, seems like Russian gas will go east now so Ukraine can keep that GTS for aqua parks lol
