It was not unhealthy to post all this, acknowledging it no matter how macabre can help you move forward. Grief does strange things to people. I had a terrible first hand experience with my mom's death so I know exactly how you feel.

Ok, here is my morbid humor kicking in.

It would have been EPIC if you had created the thread as your mother...

“Here lies.... me... I died may 10th after a surgery that led down a slippery slope with pain killers and alcohol. LET THIS BE A WARNING TO YOU ALL!!!!”

it would have left tons scratching their heads and everybody yelling back and forth about what bullshit it was with the sleuths trying to figure out who the pictures were and cross referencing the data on the profile...

On a side note, I work in healthcare, specifically sleep medicine, and I see on a regular basis of patients who are just like your mother. The opiates depress the respiratory drive, and they breathe slower and slower until they just stop breathing. If it’s any consolation it’s a very peaceful passing. She literally went in her sleep.

We do everything we can to get them to stop taking them, but along with the physical dependance is a mental dependance and the patient will find the drugs one way or another. Often times blaming us in healthcare for not caring about their pain when it’s quite often the opposite.

Now everyone on here keeps calling you “Tammy” and assuming you are a her... but Tammy was your mother’s name, and I have a more than sneaking feeling you are one of her two sons... care to out yourself, or should we just keep calling you by your mother’s moniker?

my mother actually has more than 2 sons, lol. She also left behind 4 daughters. I am the oldest, and my name is Zelda. I am wondering if I can change my username on here so people can stop calling me Tammy
