Re: Ohio Mom,children Pose with Dead Father to Warn About Dangers of Drug Addiction
A respectful gesture but won't drive home the dangers enough to make people sit up and realise what heroin can do, we've known for decades about drug and substance abuse.

Shows the power drugs can have over a person. He had a beautiful family but even they weren't enough for him to kick the junk.

After a man dies, the measure of his life is in whether people were happy he was here or happy he is gone, his family looks pretty happy that he is gone, which is pretty normal for the character of a junkie. |

uhhh why are they smiling? Saying "heroin bad!" with a massive smile on yours and your children's faces kinda detracts from the message no? ![]() ![]() |

she was very pretty and she looks very smart. does death in drug overdose valid in insurance claims? either that is the reason they are smiling or the guy physically hurts them that it was a relief to see him go.

Re: Ohio Mom,children Pose with Dead Father to Warn About Dangers of Drug Addiction
It takes two to tango, I dealt with something similar after having to be on serious pain medication and hospitalized for a month, then subsequently I had to continue the pain medication for just over six months after that due to several operations, it had to do with my kidney and bladder, ugh fucking foley catheters I don't wish them on my worst enemy.... well not most anyway. ANYWAY I wasn't told that I'd have hell coming off them things until it was a little too late, but after praying and discussing it with some church members I got into a suboxone center. So I got back to normal but I just don't understand how someone can get off of drugs and get BACK on them, that's some pretty damn stupid/bad decisions you made to get back on drugs because nobody shoved the drugs in your system, everyone says you gotta quit hanging around people that do that sorta shit and their right, but this guy had a family and kids and obviously they didn't come first in his book. That's what drugs will do to you, put your kids and wife and even your own life second to the drugs. Bad shit but if he seriously put his kids in the back seat AGAIN after getting off drugs then I say fuck him, better off dead than being a drag on the family like that, anybody can get on drugs but getting off then BACK on, fuck them they don't care to get off. And I have been to the dentist more than probably anybody you've ever seen and I never got back on drugs, and I don't have a family for support or encouragement. You would think that would encourage him to get off, but fuck it, it didn't.

Re: Ohio Mom,children Pose with Dead Father to Warn About Dangers of Drug Addiction
You're absolutely right, but something else everyone should know is that it's now easier than ever to get help for drug addiction, specifically heroin addiction. I helped pay for a church member's son to go to a clinic and get help, it was very physically easy and with support or whatever you want to call it, they never relapsed back into addiction. It takes as much, or possibly even MORE will power than physical easement of the symptoms of withdrawal to completely get off, and more importantly STAY off. I wish there was a program that actually worked to keep people off of drugs that are on the border of doing them or not doing them, instead we get stupid acting "cool" imitators to go into schools and teach people its not "cool" to do drugs, instead it should be shown exactly how "uncool" it is with honest explanations and graphic honest looks at addiction. I know there are some programs almost like what I described but none implemented on a large scale. I think Requiem for a dream, is the best hollywood captured image of addicts in both state of mind and physical images of all the things you will do to eventually get it. Just an added thought, for me it was the physical symptoms of withdrawing from pain medication, the extreme pain and everything. When that go taken care of through Subutex, I never looked back, I love my hobbies and everything too much to be a drug addict and/or a felon on drugs, can't do anything with firearms being a felon, and that's pretty much my life. So maybe I see things differently because there just wasn't anything in drugs that made me want to stay there besides physical pain, after that was taken care of then drugs had nothing to offer, maybe it would be interesting to hear others and why they stay addicts after knowing they can get off. Also sorry if this quote/reply is misplaced or too long I just thought it would be good to add to what you said Miss. |
