I've always thought it's so funny how some think god is some grumpy old man that lives in the sky watching how you behave to punish or reward you lol So wrong, the real god I believe is a concious and intelligent energy which gives and is the life of the universe and it does not give a flying fuck about human feelings or their needs, they have to take care of them selves if they want to be save but at least it has provided us with all we need. |

Seems you missed the point, but then that's probably a recurring theme throughout your life based on your responses in this thread. Best of luck with things.  Your viewpoint is less retarded than some in this thread but still makes a lot of assumptions without providing evidence. You're welcome to provide proof that your opinion of what a God is is correct, either here, or if this conversation is hijacking the thread perhaps you could start it in a more appropriate section of the website and tag me in it somehow. I'm guessing you won't though because there are no religious people with good reasons for believing what they believe. If they required good reasons to believe things they would cease to be religious at all. |

Are we just in a simulation? Possibly. I'm not sure about Elon Musk saying the chance we're not is one in billions, but it certainly makes more sense than any of the nonsense people of any religion put forward as proof of their sky daddy.

It's not neccesary a simulation perse but it is definitely a type of illusion. It has to do with the our brains. They filter a LOT of information that is arround us for example things like the electro magnetic field as a surviving mechanism other wise we would go nuts so we don't really see the world for how it's. Psychedelics like DMT remove your brains normal filtering mechanisms. Your brain is adapted for survival. It looks for food and danger and how to navigate. That is what the senses are designed for. DMT puts your brain on raw input mode and removes the filters so you see all information equally allowing the more analytical, conscious part of your brain to interpret what is normally done by your subconscious. So you see the world for how it really is. When you close your eyes or do a high enough dose that your vision is taken over, the only thing your brain can analyze is itself. The "rooms" and entities are just manifestations of your brain inspecting your subconscious. It all originates from inside you, not elsewhere. But none of that makes the experience any less significant. It shows you how powerful your brain is and that anything is possible within your mind. Here's something that you probably haven't tried and that many others probably haven't. Do DMT (or ayahuasca) alone in a forest. And keep your eyes open. Doesn't have to be a breakthrough dose. The plants will appear to become sentient and communicate with you. Animals will interact with you differently. Wind will swirl around you and you will feel waves traveling through the forest. You will hear a humming noise. This is life without the filters your brain has to only gather information necessary for survival. |
