As if they didn't have enough problems at the moment down there, there is now suspected to be a serial rapist and killer on the prowl down in Tlalnepantla. The body of a young woman, raped and strangled, was just found yesterday morning less than 50 meters away from where another turned up only a few weeks ago.

Both had roughly the same build, very similar physical features, same age, similar modes of dress, were manually strangled to death, and raped (but had their pants pulled back up afterwards). Police are baffled for leads, but are apparently treating the cases as part of a pattern.

While the narco violence is prevalent in that region, it is somewhat unusual for Cartel executions to include rape and for the bodies to be left so far out in the middle of where with no messages. Still, anything is possible down ol' Mexico way. Included are photos of both victims found thus far. The girl with lots of photos was found a few weeks ago, the one with a smaller selection of stills was found just yesterday.

Yeah, I have to assume that it must be fairly easy to get away with something like serial murder when the cops are either too bought-off or too intimidated to actually do any real investigative work. Cartels make a nice cover for all sorts of dirty deeds.
