A "kerb" is what Americans would refer to as a "curb." According to Alexei Sayle on "The Young Ones," a sidewalk is called "the pavement," as in: "...when your car mounts the pavement." Considering Brits have engineered something akin to a kerb back when streets were paved with cobblestones hundreds of years ago and when America was nothing but a spent load of jizz in Columbus' beat rag, I figure they can call them fuckers anything they fucking well please.
