Married couple who operated a pochimóvil service (sort of a shitty, really dangerous Mexican taxi that looks like a drunken turtle) were executed in their garage/store last week.

Neighbors reported gunshots and screaming, but gave the police no information about who the perpetrators may have been. The couple were sitting in chairs in front of the garage when they were assaulted. The man was killed where he sat, but the wife got up from her chair and tried to run back into the shop for cover. It did not save her.

A narcomensaje was left at the scene near the husband's corpse, indicating that they were ostensibly punished for being halcones (hawks) for a rival faction. Essentially using their taxi service to spy on and report local movements. They may have had stronger criminal ties, but it should be noted that halcone work is often forced upon civilians by drug cartels, especially people working in the transportation services.
