Looks like one of the initial hits killed him - would have stopped blood flow.

i am not familiar with scythe wound or weapon.. i looked at the killer weapon and i saw that the part the hits a target first doesnt look sharp enough to penetrate deeply. well extra ordinary force might do it. the killer must be so so mad then.
