Actually your geography is just fine. There is a differance East lansing is a seperate city from the city of lansing . it is just east of lansing proper and is the home of Michigan State university. 100 years ago when only the college was out there they had themselfs declared the city of east lansing. As for we who grew up in Lansing we do Identify ourselfs with the section of town we came up in . I know thats a little confusing at times. However if you live here it makes sense even if not in a polictially correct way. North side is owned by the Latinos west side blacks, east side white trash crackheads and hookers. South side Blacks , Veitmanese, and the original Scotch Irish and German working class. Its a tough little streach of ground be we like to call it home. Love the city even with its problems and will always be proud to say I came up on the south side. Proud son of an Oldsmobile factory rat.  |
