Local Politics, Mexican Style
This case is making some pretty serious international news this week. The frontrunner candidate for the mayoral election in a large Mexican city in Guererro was kidnapped on Monday. Her body turned up the next day under this colorful message. Her head was conveniently left outside of the tarp so that no one would have any doubt as to what lay beneath it. The message read (in my paraphrased garble of colloquial Spanish) "The same thing will happen to all turncoats and any politicians who get out of line." She got it pretty hard before she died, according to the reports. They took the cattle prod to her in several places, took a hammer to one of her knees, and beat and burned her face before finally decapitating her. If previous narco vids are anything to go by, she was likely conscious and alert throughout the entire process. A very unpleasant way to go. This murder is all over the news because of the high-profile victim, but actual photos of her body have been extremely rare and difficult to find.
