The same event and Mario's youngest son Jeff crashes heavily when his right rear wheel comes loose at turn two and he crashes head on into the wall breaking both his legs in a collision that would hamper his future career.

A fatal crash on the first lap of the 1974 Fuji Grand Champion Series, Hiroshi Kazato and Seiichi Suzuki's cars collide and burst into flames. Both drivers perished.

Red Dawson wrecked Monza at Manfeild, New Zealand 1976. This accident finished Dawson's racing career.

Michael Schumacher crashes during the 1999 British GP at Silverstone at the fast Stowe corner due to brake failure. Michael broke his leg and missed six races, returning at the Malaysian Grand Prix and taking pole by over a second.
